Vijayapura: In a tragic incident, a daily wage labourer was killed after being hit by a machine at a sugar factory at Yaragal Village in Muddebihal Taluk of the District.

The deceased has been identified as Siddappa Dodamani (55). Siddappa, a native of Hadagali in Muddebihal Taluk, was a daily wage labourer at a sugar factory. The factory workers have been alleging that they were engaged in work without proper safety measures during work, which led to the tragedy. They protested demanding adequate compensation for the family of the deceased daily wage labourer.

The incident took place at Muddebihal Police Station limits. The police reached the spot and is investigating.
