Vijayapura: Reiterating that no one can stop a Dalit from getting a chance to become Chief Minister in the State, Senior MP Ramesh Jigajinagi has made it clear that he will never join the Congress.

Addressing a press conference in the City on Thursday December 29, he said, “Since college days, I have been doing anti-Congress politics ever since I became politically conscious. So the situation of joining the Congress will not arise,” he said.

“Not a single Dalit, who was aware of the Congress’ betrayal of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, would vote for the Congress party. In the past, innocent Dalits used to vote for the Congress party. My mother had voted for the Congress when I myself contested on the Janata Party ticket. But now there is political awareness among Dalits. The Congress will not play a game of deceit in front of educated Dalits,” he said.
