Vijayapura: Wondering why the police have not arrested BJP Leader K. S. Eshwarappa and other two accused in case of abetment to suicide of contractor Santosh Patil, asked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Leader and Former IPS Officer Bhaskar Rao. He added that possibly the police have not arrested them yet because they are influential people.

Addressing media persons during his visit to the District on Friday April 15, he said that instead of Eshwarappa, if some common person was facing the charges, the police would have arrested him long ago. Since Eshwarappa is an influential person, therefore, the police were taking no action against him, Rao remarked.

Stating that the charges Eshwarappa is facing, attract imprisonment of at least ten years and it is non-bailable offence, he said that yet the police is not arresting the accused.

Claiming that Eshwarappa had given contract to Patil orally, he said that Santosh was not given an official contract. The police should conduct a detailed investigation, he said.

Earlier, he said that he has been touring the State to strengthen the party and create more members.

During the visit, the party is raising local issues and meeting like-minded people.

Referring to Vijayapura, he said that the District has all resources for the development but due to lack of political will, the District has remained backward till date.
