Min Shashikala Jolle directs officials to conduct crop survey using drone

Vijayapura: Minister for Muzrai, Haj and Wakf, Shashikala Jolle has said that she has directed the officials to conduct a detailed crop survey using drones to assess the crop loss and submit a detailed report.  

Speaking to media persons at Kamaladinni village of Muddebihal taluk for flood review on Saturday, she said that she will ensure that the adequate funds are released from the government. 

Jolle said that according to preliminary estimates, standing crop in 465 acre land of the district has been affected. 

Stating that she wants to provide a lasting solution to flood problems in Muddebihal taluk where several villages get submerged into Krishna River water, Jolle said that she has asked the officials to prepare a detailed report on how to prevent loss.

” The local leaders and elected representatives are asking for construction of a preventive wall. I will see to it that the work is taken up to provide a solution “, she said. 

On the allegations that the center has not given adequate share of relief to the state in the last floods, she hoped that this time, centre will give funds. Claiming that because of Covid which has hit the economy badly, funds could not be released, the Minister however hoped that the state will get funds this time for taking up relief works.

On getting Haj and Wakf Ministry from Women and Child Welfare in Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai cabinet, Jolle said she is happy for whatever is given.  For workers, any Ministry is fine and said that she will do her best in giving justice to people. 

During her visit to Muddebihal taluk hospital to inspect the ongoing works of the oxygen plant, she directed the officials to set up a separate ward for children in all taluk government hospitals to face the possible third wave of Covid pandemic.

She said that since the experts are already cautioning of the third wave, the government has already started precautionary works in this regard.

She said that each taluk government hospital has been asked to reserve at least ten beds. “ In the government hospital, more ventilators will be provided and other medical facilities will be augmented for the patients”, she said.
