Vijayapura: Making a controversial statement, former prime minister H D Devegowda stated that he has God’s grace and that those who opposed him are now in heaven.

Addressing a JD(S)-Congress coalition rally in Vijayapura, HDD stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was behaving like a petty politician. “He (Modi) is dishonouring the Prime Minister’s post. He thinks that only he is a strong leader, but there are many strong leaders in the country,” he said.

Taking a jibe at PM Modi, he said, “Modi has an absolute majority and he still does not have a good administration. My administration was better than his,” he said.

Speaking about his contributions to North Karnataka, he said, ” Even though I am the one who brought irrigation projects to the North Karnataka region, I am portrayed as anti-North Karnataka.”

Trying to instill confidence in the people, he said that the coalition government will complete its term.
