Vijaypura: Responding to former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy’s allegations that the bomb scare at the Mangaluru International Airport was a “mock drill” by the police, BJP MLA from Vijayapura Basangouda Patil Yatnal has taunted the former.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, January 22, Yatnal said, “Yesterday, HDK said that the bomb at MIA was a mock demonstration by the Mangaluru Police. I would like to say that his assuming the CM’s chair was also just like a mock demonstration. HDK’s personal life and political career both seem like a mock demonstration.”

“He should be ashamed of such an irresponsible statement. He has lost his mental stability. If he wishes, the Government is ready to arrange for a treatment,” he added.

Lambasting HDK further, he said, “He has no concern about our jawans, state and country on the whole. He is the ‘Owaisi of Karnataka’.”

Meanwhile, he lauded the efforts of the police in arresting the prime suspect of the MIA bomb scare, Aditya Rao. He also appreciated the efforts of state home minister Basavaraj Bommai in taking immediate cognizance of the matter and ordering a thorough probe.

It can be recalled that on Tuesday, January 21, HDK had termed the MIA bomb scare as a mock demonstration by the Mangaluru Police and blamed Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha for all the confusion.
