Vijayapura: Vimalabhai Jagadevarao Deshmukh, former minister for Women and Child Development in the cabinet of former chief minister JH Pati passed away owing to age-related illness, at her residence, here on Sunday, July 22. She was 70.

Vimalabhai had also served as district in-charge minister of Bagalkot.

Her mortal remains will be kept for the public viewing in Naalathavada, in Muddebihal Taluk, said a family source adding that final rites will be observed on Monday, July 23.

Vimalabhai is survived by three daughters.
