
Vijayapura: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who is on a visit to Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts, offered ‘Bagina’, the traditional offering of flowers and fruits, to the Krishna river at the Lal Bahadur Shastri reservoir of Almatti dam on Saturday August 21.
Speaking to the reporters here Bommai said, As Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts share borders with Maharashtra extra caution should be taken to control the possible outbreak of the third wave of Corona Pandemic.
Bommai said that he will visit all the border districts to review the measures undertaken by the district authorities to control the surge of Covid 19. He lauded the efforts of District Administrations and Ministers who have worked in this regard.
Bommai announced that he will grant a super specialty hospital to the district and increase the Covid vaccination doses to 25000 per day immediately. He added that all the expenses of the medical treatment to the patients infected with black fungus will be borne by the government.
Asserting that his priority is to complete all irrigation projects coming under UKP-III, Bommai has said that he would be soon convening a meeting of elected representatives of twin districts, Bijapur and Bagalkot, experts, and other officials to prepare a concrete plan for the implementation.
On crop loss and damage to the properties during recent floods, Bommai said that he would be releasing Rs. 350 crore for relief works.
