Belagavi: A three-member Bench of the apex court is set to take up the boundary dispute raked up by Maharashtra with Karnataka, on Friday afternoon.
Judges Jagadish Singh Khehar, Madan Lokur and C. Nagappan will hear the case and senior advocate and former union minister for law and justice and senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal will appear on behalf of the State , while senior advocates Sharad Javali and Uday Holla will assist him.
The Maharashtra State government filed the suit in the Supreme Court (Original Suit No. 4/ 2004) on March 29, 2004 staking claim on Bidar, Nippani, Belagavi, Khanapur, Karwar, among the 864 towns and villages, along the Karnataka-Maharashtra boundary.
