Belgaum : Two young lads from Belgaum Amey Kulkarni a pre-final year student of KLE Dr. M S S College of Engineering and Technology and Kartik Verma from KLS Gogte Institute of Technology have been selected as Google Student ambassador for the year 2013-14.
Over 1,400 candidates from various institutes and universities in 100 towns and cities across the country vied for this honour. Both did well in all stages of the competition.
For the GSA programme, Google authorities check the technical and leadership abilities of students who are recommended by their colleges. Each institute recommends two students. The programme is an opportunity for students to act as liaison between Google and their institutes.
These ambassadors learn about innovative Google products and programmes, plan and host fun events on campus, act as a campus contact for the companys teams and help Google understand their institutes culture. They also conduct workshops at their institutes on behalf of Google.
After selection, both have been invited for the Google India Summit in Goa from August 1.
