Haveri: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday strongly criticized Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar after a video surfaced online allegedly showing him slapping a Congress worker during an election campaign in Haveri district.
The incident, captured in a video, shows Shivakumar campaigning for Congress Dharwad Lok Sabha candidate Vinod Asooti in Savanur town. As Shivakumar exits a vehicle surrounded by workers, a Congress worker attempts to touch his shoulders, leading Shivakumar to slap him. Police intervened shortly after the incident, while Shivakumar left the scene.
BJP leader Amit Malviya has shared the video on his social media account and wrote, ”
Karnataka’s DCM, DK Shivakumar, slaps Congress Municipal Member Allauddin Maniar, while campaigning in Savanur town of Haveri. This is not the first time DK has assaulted a Congress worker.
