Fatal Collision on Gadag National Highway
A heart-wrenching incident occurred on Monday morning in the Gajendragad area of Naragol Hobli, in Gadag district, Karnataka. A tragic accident on the national highway has resulted in the loss of five lives. The victims have been identified as residents of Madanhipparagi, a town in the Kalaburagi district, and Afzalpur village.
The Fatal Journey
The ill-fated journey began with two Tata Sumo vehicles departing from the Mathas, located in the Balahosur and Shirahatti Fakkireeshwara areas of Laxmeshwar Taluk, Gadag. The vehicles were headed towards Gajendragad, with the national highway route from Naragol City.
Tragically, a collision took place on the outskirts of Naragol, near the Sami River Bridge. The Tata Sumo vehicles that were transporting passengers from Madanhipparagi to Gajendragad met with a severe accident with a Government Bus on this stretch of the national highway.
The victims who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident have been identified as Shivakumar Kalashetti (50), Chandrakala Kalashetti (12), Rani Kalashetti (12) from Madanhipparagi, and Sachin Abbas Katti (31) and Drakshayani Katti (33) from Afzalpur.
The accident has sent shockwaves through the community and serves as a tragic reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for heightened vigilance while traveling on national highways.
