Gadag: The Gadag Sports and Cultural Academy will organise ‘Kannada Sahitya Sinchana’ in the last week of December or the second week of January on the lines of Sahitya Sammelana in the City, said I K Kammara.
Speaking to mediapersons in the City on Tuesday November 22, he said that six parallel platforms are being constructed along with the main stage in the open area. The stages will be named after personalities like Sri Veeranarayana, L. J. Puttaraja Kavi Gavaigal, and Dr. Thonda Siddalinga Sri among others. There will be a poetry meet, a women’s meet and a youth meet on these platforms.
“Kannada Sahitya Sinchana” will also have folk literature, Dasa Sahitya, Chutuku and other genres of literature,” he said.
The three-day-long Kannada Sahitya Sinchana will be attended by Pt. Rajguru Guruswamy Kalakeri. He has been elected as the President of the conference. This literary programme is being conducted under the leadership of Anil Menasinakayi but one should not give it a political colour. It will be just a literary event beyond party and caste politics,” he said.
“There will also be a book festival as Gadag City has the distinction of being a printing Kashi. There will be a book exhibition with approximately twenty stalls. He said many publishers have already come forward to set up stall.
