Skill Karnataka Enrolment date extended, training in 2 months

Dharwad: Deputy Commissioner S B Bommanahalli who has asked youths to enrol their names under the “Skill Karnataka” programme which offers them free training, also advised officials to motivate them in this regard.

Youth residing in urban and rural areas with employment skills will be empowered, they will be made self-reliant and also industry-ready, said S B Bommanahalli.

Presiding over an officials’ meeting in this regard, Bommanahalli asked teachers to guide their students for enrolment adding that inorder to help more youth to enroll under this, the registration date had been extended till June 6.

SSLC failed students, PUC, diploma, degree, post-graduation, ITIs and other course students are eligible to enrol their names under the programme.

They have to either fill-up the registration form online by logging on to www.kaushalkar.com or visit the gram panchayat office, HDMC zonal offices, Tahsildar’s office and enrol their names. Names could be registered even by downloading the mobile app, DC said.

The skill development training programme would commence in two months. Along with embroidery, fashion design, house construction, textile, cottage industries, requirements for industries, skills required for more than 360 kinds of work would be provided, he said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Ibrahim Maigur, HDMC Commissioner Major (retd) Siddhalingayya Hiremath and others were present.
