Poems penned by Dr. D.R. Bendre still inspires young poets: Dr. Chinnaswamy

Dharwad: “The poems penned by Dr. D.R. Bendre still inspires young poets. His poetic knowledge containing the aspect of experience and local language still holds good for present day India,” said renowned poet Dr. Moodnakoodu Chinnaswamy.

Speaking at a function commemorating late Dr. D R Benre on his 36th death anniversary and conferring of the Bendre book awards, Dr. Chinnaswamy said, “our society lacks basics in some quarters of life, the veterans should take the lead and guide our younger generation to prosperity.”

Dr. H.S. Anupama and Dr. Siddhalingswamy Vastrad spoke on the new books which won awards.

The Bendre book awardees writers Rajkumar Madiwalar, Kajuru Satish, Deepa Hiregutti, and C.S. Bheemaray were honoured with plaques and citation on the occasion.

Dr. D.R. Bendre National Memorial Trust president Dr. Shyamsundar Bidarkundi presided over the event.

Vocalist Arjun Vathar presented Bendre light music on the occasion.

Noted writers Dr. Giraddi Govindraj, Dr. Balanna Seegihalli, Dr. Veena Shanteshwar, and Dr. Siddhaling Pattanashetty, among other writers, were also present.
