More police stations in Dharwad district soon: ADGP A S N Murthy

Dharwad: ADGP (Traffic & Road Safety) A S N Murthy who held a grievance redressal meeting at SP office here has assured of setting up more police stations in the district on priority basis.

However based on the demand of local police, a new police station at Mishrikoti would be sanctioned soon, he added.

Reacting to a query on cheating case that took place in Kalaghatagi recently wherein thousands of depositors were defrauded by a family of three with an offer of giving more interest on the deposits, Murthy said police will soon trace the accused in the case.

Earlier in the meeting, the policemen placed many demands before the visiting authorities which included increasing the number of police quarters, establishment of more police canteens, separate facilities for women constables at police stations among others.

Demand for allotment of police quarters, hike in salary on par with other states, more patrolling vehicles, increase in fuel expenses for patrolling among others were heard during the meeting.
