Dharwad: Congress candidate Saleem Ahmed, has been elected to the Legislative Council from the Dharwad Local Authorities constituency with 3334 votes, while BJP’s sitting MLC candidate Pradeep Shettar was re-elected as the dual seat constituency’s second candidate.

Pradeep received 2497 first-preference votes.

There were a total of eight independent candidates in the fray.

7450 voters out of 7476 total votes had cast their votes. There were 7080 valid and 370 invalid votes.
