Dharwad: Siddheshwara Swamy of Jnana Yogashrama, Vijayapura has asked legal professionals to deliver speedy justice, since people have tremendous faith in the judiciary.

Speaking at a function organised by the Dharwad Bar Association to felicitate Justice Mohan Shantanagoudar here on Wednesday evening, who has recently been elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court, the Swamiji said judges and advocates should use their hearts along with the brains while dealing with litigations and delivering judgments so that they can have the satisfaction of doing the right thing.

Siddheshwar Swamiji, along with Dharwad Bar Association President V D Kamaraddi and other dignitaries felicitated Justice Mohan Shantanagoudar on the occasion.

Responding to the felicitation, Justice Shantanagoudar recalled his days as a student and lawyer in Dharwad, and the path traversed for three decades in the legal field. He said, his responsibility towards the society had increased by his elevation to the Supreme Court, and that he would strive to discharge the duties efficiently and judiciously.

He called upon the budding lawyers in Dharwad to explore new avenues and strive to enhance their competence.

Senior advocates M C Bandi and K B Navalgimath explained how hard work and sincerity had taken Justice Shantanagoudar up the ladder and hoped that as a judge of Supreme Court, he would come out with historical judgements.

Later at a separate function, the members of Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha felicitated Justice Shantanagoudar.
