Dharwad: In a shocking incident, BJP member of Zilla Panchayat identified as Yogish Gowda Gowder was hacked to death during wee hours of Tuesday.

Miscreants reportedly attacked him with lethal weapons when he stepped into Uday Gym at Sapthapur. He represented Hebballi constituency.

The police suspect that during Hubballi ZP elections, Gowda was sent behind bars after some episodes of violence were reported and Gowda had contested the polls while remaining in police custody. He still emerged victorious.

There are possibilities of him being murdered over some rivalry.
