Dharwad: In a significant development, Dharwad Rural MLA Vinay Kulkarni has been granted permission to enter Dharwad district solely for the purpose of casting his vote. Kulkarni, who is one of the accused in the Hebballi Zilla Panchayat member Yogishgouda Goudar murder case, has been barred from entering the district by a court order.
According to local sources, Vinay will exercise his democratic right at Sharadha School in Dharwad today by 5 pm. He is currently en route from Chennammana Kittur in Belagavi. The High Court’s single bench in Bengaluru has allowed him to cast his vote, despite his plea being rejected by the lawmaker’s special court.
To recall, Kulkarni was allowed to meet his ailing sister who was admitted at a private hospital in Hubballi for just two hours, four months ago.
