Dharawad: A four-decade-old demand of the Scheduled Caste-left-handed community, social justice and various other Government facilities has been demanding the implementation of the Retired Justice Sadashiva Commission.
Now that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has taken a historic decision by providing reservation, leaders of the inner reservation community celebrated the victory at the CM’s residence in Hubballi.
Speaking to reporters in the City, they said, the most exploited, and the most oppressed of the original Scheduled Castes such as Madiga, Chalavadi, Samagara, Dohara and Mochigara communities, who have been plagued by untouchability for centuries, have not been able to get their due reservations. Realising that they were deprived and forgiving the nearly three-decade-long agitation for internal reservation, the BJP-ruled State Government has finally implemented the internal reservation among the Scheduled Castes and congratulated Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister for Mines, Coal and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi by bursting crackers, distributing sweets and distributing sweets.
