198 woman constables join state police force

Dharwad: An attractive passing-out parade at the district police headquarters ground in Dharwad marked the inclusion of 198 woman police constables into the state civil police wing.

These woman police constables from 19 districts had undergone training in Dharwad and successfully completed it.

The chief guest at the passing-out parade, Inspector General of Police (Northern Range) K Ramachandra Rao, presented prizes to the candidates who had secured places in various competitions held during the training.

Addressing the gathering, he said that the objective of the training programme was to enable them discharge their duties more efficiently and in a responsible manner. He called upon the recruits to serve society in a better manner as their position in the police department provided them special privileges.

Dharwad Superintendent of Police G Sangeeta, Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad S B Bommanahalli, Chief Executive Officer of Dharwad Zilla Panchayat Snehal and others were present.
