Belagavi: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Krishna Byre Gowda revealed that Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress would be forming a pre-poll alliance for the next Lok Sabha Elections to be held in 2019. However, the idea is still in its infancy and there is no clarity on how the seats would be shared, he added.

Byre Gowda said that the Congress Working Committee had approved the alliance proposal. The coordination committee made the decision to form the pre-poll alliance. He dismissed the rumours that the disagreements over sharing Hassan and Mandya parliamentary seats would affect the alliance.

It may be recalled that Chairman of Coordination Committee Siddaramaiah had met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi On July 23 and discussed the political scenario in Karnataka.
