Belagavi: BJP has attacked the Kumaraswamy led state government over delay in farm loan waiver, following Cooperation Minister Bandeppa Kashempur’s disclosure on the floor of the House in Belagavi, on Wednesday, December 12, that the Rs 44,000 Crore farm loan waiver scheme had benefited only 800 farmers so far.

However, Kashempur has maintained that the implementation was slow not due to insufficient funds but due to procedural reasons. He also added that the list prepared by banks and those of the farmer applicants are being cross-checked to prepare a final list of beneficiaries.

“U Turn @hd_kumaraswamy Returns & this time with a bigger Drama. 4 months after announcement of Rs 44,000-crore farm loan waiver by Kumarswamy only 800 farmers have been benefited. That is not even 1% of farming community. Kumarswamy has been running this crippled govt on ‘LIES’,” the Karnataka state unit BJP tweeted reacting to the delay.

It also tweeted, “Instead of producing Movies Bluff master@hd_kumaraswamy should take up acting in movies seriously. He is a perfect actor than a politician who successfully kept fooling the farmers for the last 6 months. His governance is all about lies & corruption.”

On Thursday, the infuriated sugarcane protesters shouted slogans against the CM outside the winter State Assembly in Belagavi for failing to guarantee them minimum Support Price.

The police detained the protesters and took them away to avoid a law and order situation.
