Belagavi: Shivamogga MLA, BJP leader K. S. Eshwarappa announced boycotting the ongoing State legislature session in Belagavi.

He is upset with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for not re-inducting him to the Cabinet after CID gave a clean chit to him in the death by suicide of a Belagavi-based contractor.

Eshwarappa resigned in April 2022 after a Belagavi contractor by the name of Santosh Patil committed suicide in Udupi alleging a 40 per cent commission from Eshwarappa to release his bills.

“Even though I quit my Minister post after an assurance from the CM that I will be re-inducted to Cabinet once I get clean chit, he is not following his words,” he alleged.

“This boycott is my protest,” he said.
