Bagalkot: A seer’s son was brutally hacked to death over a property dispute here on September 30 at Navalagi village in Jamakhandi taluk.

Chikkaiah Matada (32), son of Daneshwara seer of Basavagopala Neelamanikya Matt in Jamakhandi is the deceased.

The father and the son had a dispute over matt property and it is suspected to be the reason behind the murder.

According to reports, Chikkaiah was attacked with lethal weapons two years ago in Belagavi over the same land dispute.

Banahatti police have taken up the case and are investigating further.
