Bagalkot: The bandh call given by different organizations demanding bifurcation of Jamkhandi as a district and Savalagi as taluk has turned out to be quite a success.

On Thursday, schools and colleges, shops, and other businesses were shut down, except the government offices.

As pontiffs of different Mutts are expected to join the rally and protest joining hands with various organizations, today noon, the police security has been beefed up all around the city.

Transport system has come to complete halt.

It can be recalled that earlier Dr Channabasava Mahaswami of Ole Mutt had requested everyone to join hand in the protest irrespective of ideologies and religion.
