New Delhi: Sushma Swaraj, External affairs minister has sought reports over the media reports that visa extension was denied to the German Padma Shree awardee, following which the awarded has threatened to return the award.

According to the media report, German national Friederike Irina Bruning, who was a recipient of the Padma Shree Award for cow protection this year, has threatened to return her award after her application for visa extension for further stay in India. It is said that the same was rejected by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Reacting to the media report, Swaraj tweeted: “Thanks for bringing this to my notice. I have asked for a report.”

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj is lauded by many for her quick response and follow up through her ministry for those seeking her help through twitter or otherwise.
