Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh): According to authorities, Yogesh Kumar, a 36-year-old resident of Hardoi, tragically took his own life on Tuesday following the death of his wife, Manikarnika Kumari, 28, in a road accident. Yogesh worked as a teacher, and the couple had been married for six months.
The incident occurred on the Lucknow-Hardoi highway, within the jurisdiction of the Sursa police station, where Manikarnika, a paramedic, was involved in a fatal accident while riding her scooter to the Tadiyawana primary health center, where she worked as a nurse. The collision, caused by an unidentified vehicle, resulted in her death.
Sursa Station House Officer (SHO) Indresh Kumar Yadav stated that Manikarnika was identified through her belongings, including her identity card and mobile phone. Her husband, Yogesh, was then notified of the tragic event.
Upon arrival at the accident site, Yogesh retrieved his wife’s belongings before returning home and isolating himself in a room. Concerned neighbors, who came to offer their condolences, discovered Yogesh’s lifeless body hanging from the ceiling after receiving no response to their knocks. They promptly alerted the authorities, leading to the retrieval of the body for post-mortem examination.
