Meerut: A Uttar Pradesh-based political outfit has threatened to shoot Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leaders Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid to death before Durga Ashtami.
Uttar Pradesh Navnirman Sena has threatened to accomplish the same, unless the two leave Delhi by March 31, a report in TOI said.
It is said that the Sene has been irked over the rape allegations leveled against the Indian Army in Kashmir by Kanhaiya Kumar recently.
In his Facebook post, Sena’s national president, Amit Jani posted: “If I can’t organise a shootout at JNU, then I will quit politics.”
Amit Jani added: “You can insult me, abuse my family and even condemn my religion but the army is the pride of India.”
Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid were arrested on sedition charges and are currently out on bail.
