New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has confirmed sexual assault charges against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the Unnao gang-rape case.

The probe revealed that the 17-year-old victim had been initially raped by the MLA on June 4 last year while an accomplice of his, Shashi Singh who had reportedly brought the girl to the MLAs house, on the pretext of providing her a job stood guard outside.

Both Sengar and Shashi were arrested by the CBI on April 13-14 this year, following a huge uproar over inaction by the UP government in connection to this case.
