Andhra Pradesh : In a latest addition to the spate of incidents of attempting to outrage the modesty of young women, two girls jumped out from a speeding auto to escape from a rape attempt by the driver and two other youth in Vizag of Andhra Pradesh.
The police said that two girls were found injured, one of them with severe head injuries in the outskirts of Paderu in Vizag area on Monday. On Sunday the girls who were residing near G Madugula area in the district had gone to Paderu to attend the Modakondamma festival.
The girls had boarded a shared autorickshaw to go back to their hometown at Paderu. Two youth who were also travelling in the vehicle started misbehaving with the girls.

After the vehicle proceeded a little further, the youth started misbehaving with the girls and supposedly wanted sexual favours from them. The sources said, even the driver of the autorickshaw tried to abuse them and took the auto towards Chintalaveedhi.
Sensing danger after noticing the vehicle speeding in the wrong direction, the girls jumped out of the vehicle and started screaming for help.A passer-by who noticed the happenings tried to chase the auto in vain.
Paderu police have registered a case and have launched a manhunt for the autorickshaw driver and the other two youth.
