Madhurai: The hashtag #GoBackModi continues to be the top trend in twitter owing to the visit of PM Narendra Modi to Madurai.

The PM visited Madurai today to lay the foundation stone for All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to come up in Thoppur.

As the time of his visit was nearing, many including the opposition party members took to Twitter to express their displeasure by trending #GoBackModi asking questions on centre’s reaction on police shooting in Thoothukudi, funds for Gaja relief among other issues.

By Sunday morning 9.30am the hashtag #GoBackModi raked in around 2,50,000 tweets to grab the top spot. This is the second time this tweet is trending in Tamil Nadu.

When Modi visited Tamil Nadu to attend the Defence Expo, protesters were found showing black flags and black balloons demanding his intervention for the speedy formation of the Cauvery Management Board.

There were other variants of tweets also welcoming and thanking Modi. There were few tweets questioning this trending tweets even for an event which was positive for the state.
