New Delhi: The cold war between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues with the party trying to drag him to the Election Commission of India alleging that he is involved in ‘horse-trading,’ here on Tuesday, April 30.
The TMC has also demanded with the EC to reject PM Modi’s nomination.
According to an official letter by the TMC party to EC PM Modi, in one his speeches had claimed that around 40 All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) leaders were on the threshold of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party. They have also alleged that the BJP was trying to influence the electorate by spreading false information, inturn persuading them to vote for BJP.
The TMC has urged the EC to ask for evidence from PM Modi pertaining to his claim. If he fails to submit one, the TMC has sought his disqualification on the grounds violation of election model code of conduct.
Yesterday, while addressing a rally in Serampore in West Bengal, Modi had blatantly said that 40 MLAs from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s party were in touch with the BJP and that she was trying to become the prime minister with only few seats.
