Mumbai: In spine-chilling crime executed by two juveniles, a three-year-old girl was abducted, and murdered with her body cut into pieces in Mumbai. The two teenagers had allegedly committed this horrendous crime to eke out a ransom of Rs 1 cr from the little girl’s parents.
The incident came to light on Saturday night after the girl’s body was recovered from Kazipura at Haji Kasam Chawl in Nagpada area here. The two accused were arrested in the wee hours of Sunday.
According to police, the victim had been missing since December 5 and a case in this regard was registered by her parents with the J J Marg police.
Later, the victim’s parents received a call from some unidentified persons, demanding Rs 1 crore as ransom. Unable to shell out such a huge amount, the girl’s father agreed to pay Rs 28 lakh to the alleged kidnappers, Zeenewsindia.com quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Manojkumar Sharma.
The abductors later asked the girl’s father to come with the ransom amount at Kalwa town in neighbouring Thane.
During course of investigation, it was found that a 16-year-old boy, who lived in the neighbourhood of the girl and had passed on the information of kidnapping to her parents and his accomplice had allegedly abducted the girls and then strangled her using mobile phone charger on Dec 5 itself.
