Mohali: Three people have been arrested in Punjab’s Mohali with Pakistani sim cards, a Pakistan-made automatic rifle and other weapons.

As per police sources, the three arrested are heroin smugglers.

This comes as a shocker as the operations to cleanse the Air Force base in Pathankot is still on after a deadly attack by the terrorists on Saturday morning.

Senior police officer GPS Bhullar is reported in NDTV ruling out any connection between the men arrested in Mohali and the terrorists who executed Pathankot attack. Smugglers who operate across the Indo-Pak border in Punjab routinely use Pakistani sim cards to communicate with their contacts, he said.

Mohali is adjacent to Chandigarh, the shared capital of Punjab and Haryana.
