Thousands of Congress activists sit on Dharna against Kunte in Vile Parle

Mumbai, Jan 28: Vile Parle MLA Krishna Hegde, Ex-MP and MLC Sudha Joshi, corporator Winni D’Souza, Ex-Corporator Jagdish Amin and over thousands of Congress activists sat on a dharna on the footpath of Nehru Road, Vile Parle (East).

Slogans of “Gali Gali mein Shor Hai Sitaram Kunte Chor Hai’, Mumbai Bachao… Kunte Hatao rang through the air.

Hegde offered a garland of Bribe Money to Kunte. Calling Kunte the ‘Lord of BMC’ Hegde also offered filthy water from the taps and Garbage to the portrait of Kunte.

Some of Hegde’s prominent demands are:

  • Property Tax reduction in Mumbai by 50 percent in Mumbai Suburbs.
  • Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagruh work should be completed quickly.
  • Badminton Court at Swatantrya Veer Sawarkar Kendra, Vile Parle (E) approval should be given for construction urgently.
  • 1 lac sq. ft. RG Plot encroachment at Charat Singh Colony should be cleared immediately.
  • Inquiry on PAPs being sold and occupied by outsiders when PAP’s for rehabilitation not available.
  • Anand Nagar Welfare Centre permission not given for 3 years (old age Recreation Centre)
  • V. N. Desai Municipal Hospital renovation should be started soon.
  • Shirodkar Hospital renovation should be started soon and shifting in Vile Parle (East) only.
  • New Roads required for Vile Parle.
  • Action on Road contractors and Nullah desilting contractors for inferior quality work.
  • Pressure in Water supply to be increased and clean water to be provided.
  • Roop Theatre to be opened.
  • Ajmal Road dispensary to be opened.
  • Old K-East Ward Office to be renovated and converted into Municipal Amenity Services.

“An FIR should be filed against Kunte deaths resulting from Mahim, Pydhonie and Mazgaon building crashes (where he is a custodian)”.

Hegde also said that if Kunte is so Clean all the approvals given by him during his tenure along with Concession Sheet, DP and Plans should be put up on the BMC Website and he should be open for scrutiny.

Hegde also demanded the immediate removal of a AMC Bhagyashree Kapse and Designated Officer Jangam.

More Dharnas will be held next week at Ward No. 81 followed by Ward No. 77, 76, 63, 65, 79 and 75.
