New Delhi: Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday described Pakistan as a “terrorist state” and said it should be “isolated”, blaming Islamabad for the killing of 17 Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack in Uri took place early Sunday morning when fidayeens attacked the rear office of the Indian Army’s infantry battalion. Army jawans fought back and neutralised four terrorists. Search operations are currently underway in the area as there could be at least two more terrorists in Uri.

“Deeply distressed at the terror incident in Uri and the loss of 17 brave soldiers martyred. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers. Those behind this terror incident would be brought to justice,” Singh tweeted, saying he also appraised PM Modi of the security review meeting held at his residence this afternoon.

The meeting was attended by top security officials including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and senior bureaucrats from the Defence and Home Ministry.
