Amaravati/Hyderabad: Two students from India, G Dinesh from Wanaparthy in Telangana and Nikesh from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, were found dead in their accommodation in Connecticut, United States. Dinesh, 22, and Nikesh, 21, had recently gone to the US for higher studies, with Dinesh arriving on December 28, 2023.
The cause of their deaths remains unknown, leaving family members and authorities puzzled. Dinesh’s family, in Wanaparthy, Telangana, received the devastating news from Dinesh’s friends in a nearby room, who discovered the tragic incident.
The families are seeking assistance from Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to facilitate the repatriation of Dinesh’s body. Wanaparthy MLA Megha Reddy has also extended support to the grieving family.
The Srikakulam district administration and police in Andhra Pradesh are currently unaware of Nikesh’s death, and there is no information available about his family. Dinesh and Nikesh, who were mutual friends, became roommates in the US after going there for their studies.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has assured the family of arrangements to bring back Dinesh’s body to his native place. The tragic incident has left both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in mourning as they seek answers and support for the families of the deceased students.
