Hyderabad : On Monday, the Telangana government commenced crediting farmers’ bank accounts under the Rythu Bandhu plan, shortly after Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy gave the order.
He emphasized that no farmer should have difficulties and instructed the officials to begin the process of crediting the financial support under Rythu Bandhu on Monday during an agriculture review meeting at the Ambedkar State Secretariat.
During the three hours of the discussion, topics covered included the implementation of farmer welfare programs and the operation of agriculture and related departments.
Since figuring out the details for Rythu Bharosa would take some time, the Congress administration chose to offer support under the previous BRS government’s program, Rythu Bandhu.
The Election Commission halted the Rythu Bandhu payout, which was set for late last month, because the BRS had violated the Model Code of Conduct.
Among the six promises made by Congress in the most recent elections is Rythu Bharosa.
It had committed to providing financial support of Rs. 15,000 per acre each year, which was Rs. 5,000 more than the farmers were receiving under Rythu Bandhu.
Earlier, Congress leader T. Jeevan Reddy had said that the new government would ensure that every genuine farmer gets Rs.7,500 per acre for every crop season. Thus, the farmers will get Rs.15,000 per acre every year. As tenant farmers are not covered by Rythu Bandhu, the Congress has promised to cover them under Rythu Bharosa. It has also promised Rs 12,000 annual financial assistance each to agriculture labourers.
