Hyderabad: On Friday, a woman entrepreneur was taken into custody in Hyderabad on suspicion of pursuing and abducting a TV music channel anchor with the aim of getting married to him. Police say the 31-year-old hired four men to kidnap the man and bring him to her office, and she put a tracking device on his car to keep tabs on his whereabouts.

Trisha, the woman, is the owner of a digital marketing company. Two years ago, she began chatting with the account holder after seeing pictures of Pranav, a TV anchor, on a matrimony website.

She later discovered, though, that a cybercriminal was using Pranav’s picture—rather than his own—as the matrimony website’s profile picture.

According to the police, Trisha looked through the profile and found the anchor’s phone number. When she messaged Pranav through an instant messaging app, he informed her that he had reported the incident to the Cyber Crime police station and that someone else had used his photo to create a fake account on the matrimony website.

However, the woman continued in messages Pranav, who subsequently blocked her number.

Trisha was set on marrying him and had planned to abduct him, believing she could resolve the situation, according to the police.

So she hired four people to kidnap the anchor. She also put a tracking device in the victim’s car so she could follow him around.

According to police, on February 11, the four hired men kidnapped Pranav and brought him to Trisha’s office, where they severely beat him.

The TV anchor t was only released after responding to the woman’s calls out of fear for his life, according to the police.

After that, he lodged a complaint with the Uppal police station, and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 363 (kidnapping), 341 (wrongful restraint), and 342 (wrongful confinement) were cited in the case.

The accused woman and the four men she hired to carry out the kidnapping were arrested by the police during the course of the investigation. Further investigation going on.
