Chennai: A shocking incident unfolded at the Tamil Nadu Raj Bhavan where a petrol bomb was hurled at the main gate, with slogans against the governor being shouted by the attacker. The accused, Karuka Vinod, was swiftly arrested by the police. Eyewitnesses reported that Vinod, protesting the governor’s non-signing of the anti-NEET bill, threw two petrol bombs before being apprehended. Security personnel caught him when he attempted to escape; he had additional petrol bombs in his possession.
Vinod, who had previously targeted the BJP state committee office, is a known criminal and had been released from jail just a week ago. The incident has sparked concerns about the breakdown of law and order in the state under the current DMK government, as alleged by the BJP.
