Chandigarh: As the Republic Day dawned, there was a chaos and worry at the Pathankot railway station after an abandoned bag was found.

The police along with the dog squad reached the spot and put sand bags over the suspicious bag to minimise the damage in case the bag contained explosives.

“We have recovered an abandoned bag. This is an ordinary bag and it has been covered with the sand bags. The experts are scrutinising the bag. The platform has been evacuated as a precautionary measure. There is nothing to worry. The station will be sanitised soon,” IG, Border Range Alok Nath said.

Pathankot Air Force station was attacked by six Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists on January 2.
