
New Delhi: Senior IPS officer Subodh Kumar Jaiswal was on Tuesday, May 25 appointed as the new CBI chief for two years.
Jaiswal is the director-general of the Central Industrial Security Force. He joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1985 and is a Maharashtra cadre officer (CISF).
On Monday, a three-member selection committee led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi shortlisted his name for the position.
Jaiswal has been named the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a two-year term, according to the ministry order said.
