Students made to strip, Akal Varsity terminates four employees

Punjab: Akal University here has terminated four of its employees after allegations of the warden of the hostel asking girls to strip started making rounds.

The female students at the varsity staged a protest here on Tuesday alleging that they were made to strip inside the on-campus hostel by the warden just to check who was menstruating and could have dumped a used sanitary pad in the toilet.

Two security guards and two wardens were terminated following the incident.

“We received a complaint from the students following which a committee was set up and four employees were immediately terminated,” MS Johal, Dean, Academics, Akal University is quoted in media.
