Sowjanya case: Voluntary bandh in Belthangady

Belthangady: Shopkeepers in Belthangady, Guruvayanakere and Mundaje are observing a bundh by  voluntarily downing their shutters on October 25, Friday in support of the massive protest meet scheduled to be held today  demanding a CBI probe into the rape and murder case of Ujire SDM College student Sowjanya.

The protest has been organised by the Prajaprabhutva Vedike of Belthangady taluk. Belthangady police have  made  tight security arrangements for  the event.

Sri Esha Vittadas Swamiji of Kemar Mutt, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, social activist and leaders from various organizations will take part in the meeting.

Thousands of people are expected to participate in the protest
