New Delhi: In a major set back to the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi’s close aide Haji Haroon Rashid will be contesting the LS polls as an independent candidate.

Reportedly, Rashid has the support of a local Samajwadi Party candidate.

It is being said that Rashid quit the Congress party stating that the party had not done anything for the Muslims.
