Bikaner: In an inspiring story of perseverance, Vatsalya Singh Chauhan, a 21-year-old final year IIT-Kharagpur student, made his father who is a welder by profession, beam with pride by bagging a Rs 1.02 crore per annum salary job from Microsoft.
He hails from Sanhouli village in Bihar’s Khagariya region.
Vatsalya scored 75 percent marks in Class 12 exam and went to Rajasthan’s Kota in 2011 to undertake training to enter the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology.
He scored an All India Rank of 382 in IIT-JEE entrance exam and got himself enrolled for Computer Science at IIT-Kharagpur.
Speaking to media sources, Vatsalya’s father said he had taken an education loan worth Rs 3.50 lakh from a bank for his son’s admission at IIT.
“We were in tears when Vatsalya told me that he has got a job in Microsoft,” said the proud father Chandra Kant.
