Six students die in Kerala road accident

Thiruvananthapuram: Six engineering students were killed when their speeding car rammed into a vehicle in Kerala’s Kollam district early Thursday.

The third year students of TKM Kollam Engineering College were returning from the Varkala beach after attending the New Year bash.

“The car was at high speed and it rammed into my lorry. The bodies were taken out with great difficulty. All of them died on the spot,” the driver told the media.

The bodies were taken out by police and local rescuers by breaking open the car, which got jammed under the impact of the collision with the tanker that was coming from the opposite direction.

The driver of the tanker has been taken into custody, police said.

The deceased were identified as Ajith Prakash, Syed Inzamam, Arun Babu, Shijo George John, Adirshah and Nixon.
