New Delhi: Days after a young man was arrested for opening fire at anti-CAA protesters near Jamia Milia Islamia University, shots were once again fired on Sunday, February 2 night.

The incident, as per reports, occurred at gate No. 5 of the JMIU, when two unidentified persons on a scooter, came and opened fire near a group of protesters.

This is the third time in four days that anti-CAA protesters have been shot at in Delhi.

“Two unidentified persons resorted to firing outside the university gate no. 5. They came on a red coloured Scooty from Shaheen Bagh side,” said Suyash Tripathi, a Law student at Jamia Millia Islamia.

“One of them was wearing a red jacket,” he added.

No injuries have been reported so far, sources said.

According to the police, some students told them that a shot had been fired at the university gate, NDTV reports.

The police have, however, not confirmed the same, according to IANS.

Meanwhile, protests started building up outside the police station. People demanded that the police take action and arrest the “man in red” (a reference to one of the riders who was seen wearing a red jacket), who was riding on “scooty number 1532”.
